Halloween is fast approaching, and your kids have probably been dreaming of candy and monsters for weeks. As a parent you’ve more likely been planning how to balance their need for spooky fun and sugary treats with caution and safety. Here are some great Halloween-themed events in and around Ocala that are fun, kid-friendly, and provide a safe environment for your children to have a blast on one of their favorite nights of the year.
Trunk Or Treat at Mojo’s
On October 31st, local favorite Mojo’s Grill and Catering Co. will be hosting a lively trunk or treat event for the whole family at their Silver Springs Blvd. location. There will be trick or treating, live music, games, a bounce house, and more from 5-8 PM.
Roger’s Farm Fall Festival
This festival in Gainesville runs from the 3rd to the 31st and offers attractions and activities to keep you and your family in the Fall spirit all day. Roger’s farm features a 12-acre corn maze, duck races, pony rides, petting zoo, a mini maze full of ghouls, and much more. Hay rides to the farm pumpkin patch will let kids 12 and under pick a pumpkin to take home with them. There will also be a large covered picnic area available with concessions. Kirby’s Farm Lost Railroad
This spookily fun event in Williston mixes local history with local urban legend. Activities at Kirby’s Farm include a train ride through a lost Carnival colony conducted by zombie hunters, a freak show haunted house, haunted woods tour, and Halloween-themed movies on a giant movie screen. The Pickin’ Patch
From October 1st to the 30th, kids in the Ocala and Dunnellon areas will be able to visit the only pumpkin patch where you can cut the pumpkin straight off the vine.
