August 2026 in Review | Showcase Properties

We are unapologetically proud of our team here at Showcase, which is made up of so many talented, knowledgeable and innovative people who complement each other and work so hard to make our community better and our firm a success. So we wanted to take a moment and toot on the horn about the accomplishments from the Showcase team in August. 

Our home sale prices (not including leases) ranged from $85,000 up to $4,400,000 and spanned everything from vacant land, a variety of homes, townhouses, and several horse farms of various sizes. While we might be known for our horse farm sales, we also have a solid and proven history in all property types and prices. Our agents know the area well and understand how to take what a client needs and find the place that meets them. There’s a wide range of different properties our team works with, and whether someone is looking for a horse farm or a town house, we know where to look. 

Beckie Cantrell and Valerie Dailey were an unstoppable force, closing four major properties, totaling $16.7M in sales combined, including a $4.4M, 80-acre equestrian training farm in Ocala, as well as 128-acre estate in Reddick that was sold to local thoroughbred owner Rich Mendez for $8.8M. 

Other sales highlights were the closing of 3 parcels of wooded area, totaling 55 acres in prime Ocala horse country for $1.1M and a 31-acre home and property in Morriston for $3M, in Northwest Marion County’s preservation area. All of these buyers are local members of the community who are deeply invested in Ocala’s equine industry and understand how important it is to preserve the beauty and viability of our horse farm properties. Beckie, Laurie, and Valerie were all instrumental in bringing their best and connecting the ideal buyers with the right properties.  The trust they’ve built over the years in our community means that clients can count on Showcase to find the ideal places for them to live and work. 

Other milestones we hit in August: 

• • • In Summer 2026 (June-August) we produced a total sales volume of $40,126,672.
    • From June to August 2026, 11 of our agents produced a sales volume of over $1 million.
    • Showcase ranked #2 in Farm Sales in Marion County by Total Volume and Total Transactions from June - August 2026.
    • Showcase ranked #1 in Farm Sales in August 2026 in Marion County by Total Volume
    • In general Residential Sales, Showcase ranked #13 in August and #12 from June - August in Marion County by Total Volume for Stellar Members.
      
      

And in other news unrelated to Real Estate, but we wanted to mention because it’s kind of cool: Valerie Dailey headed off to England in June for her first Royal Ascot outing. Bacio, the horse she helped coach, made headlines as he won the Palace of Holyroodhouse, giving jockey Wesley Ward a 13th win at the storied venue and defeating 26 other contenders in the race. It was a huge moment for everyone on the training team, especially after a small hiccup earlier in the weighing that nearly derailed Bacio’s standing to compete. In the end, though, the horse not only overcame, but triumphed by a comfortable 3 ¾ lengths.

A pretty spectacular summer, if we do say so. As the summer heat folds into the relief of a cool autumn here in Florida, the market tends to show renewed energy (much like Floridians after three months of brain-bending heat). We almost always start to see the sales trend accelerate, with more inquiries and more interest in checking out what’s available in Marion County. So while we’ve had a pretty fantastic summer – the heat notwithstanding – we’re gearing up for what looks to be an even better Autumn and Winter season.
